Prosthetics for Wounded Ukrainian Soldiers

Prosthetics are lifelines, providing independence and dignity to those who lost limbs. At Kind Deeds, we offer free prosthetic devices and rehabilitation to wounded Ukrainian soldiers, aiming to create a positive ripple effect in the community.

Mykola

Mykola, a 26 year old soldier from Ivano-Frankivsk. He was a digital designer and programmer, never surved in the army. Lived in Poland, when the war started – went back to protect Ukraine. Mykola served in the International Legion as an infantry soldier and a translator. He stepped on a antipersonnel mine in Luhansk region during the exfil. He’s currently receiving treatment in Poland.

Andrii

Andrii was born in Kyiv, is 31 years old, and is unmarried. In civilian life, he worked as a head chef in various restaurants in Ukraine and even had his establishment. He loves to travel and ride motorcycles. After the full-scale invasion, he volunteered for the Territorial Defense Forces. His unit held back enemy forces on the approaches to Kyiv, and after training, they participated in the de-occupation of the Kharkiv region. Andrii was wounded on March 30, 2023, in the forests near Kremenna. He plans to return to service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Oleksii

Oleksii, 27 years old, was born in Kharkiv. Prior to the start of the full-scale invasion, he lived in Kyiv. He worked as a freelancer in the IT field. Oleksii joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as a radiotelephonist in 2022. He was wounded on January 24, 2023.

Success stories

Anton

Anton is 35 years old. During the battle for Lysychansk, Anton helped to save another wounded soldier from the battlefield. Anton was hit by a land mine, and as a result, he lost his right leg.

Viktor

Viktor is 23 years old. He was born in the Donetsk region. Viktor worked in a coal mine before he went to the frontline. He entered the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the spring of 2022. During the battle in Marianka, he was wounded. Injured by a land mine, he lost his left leg.

Mykola

Mykola is 30 years old and was born in Bilopillya in the Symy region. Mykola is a Ukrainian champion in athletics. He went to the frontline as a volunteer at very beginning of the full-scale invasion and fought in Lysychansk and Kherson. Mykola was wounded and lost his leg on October 11th.

Roman

Roman, the defender of Mariupol, is only 22 years old. He was born and grew up in the Kyiv region. Roman joined territorial defense as soon as the full-scale invasion began. He wanted to defend his country. Later, Roman joined the Azov Regiment and fought in battles during the blockade of Mariupol. During one of the missions, his battalion was attacked by “Grad” (multiple launch rockets), resulting in 13 wounded and five dead soldiers. Roman lost his leg.

Maksym

Maksym joined the Army when he was 19 years old and has been a member of an intelligence unit since February 2022. He has been engaged in the defense of the Odessa region. Maksym did take part in the liberation of the Kherson region. The Russian mine blew up next to him near the village of Davydiv Brid, where he and his unit battled the Russian aggressors. Due to this explosion, he lost a limb.

Viktor

Viktor is 25 years old, and he joined the 57th Brigade of the Armed Forces at the age of 18 in 2016. Since February of 2022, he has been serving in the intelligence unit. He took part in the defense of the Odessa region, the liberation of Snake Island, and fought in the Kherson region. Viktor was injured on a land mine near the village of Davydiv Brid.

Yevhen

Yevhen is 48 years old and was born in Slavyansk in the Donetsk region. He is a proud husband and father of two sons. He has been in the Army since 2017 and has been fighting for the last year on the front lines. Yevhen’s life changed forever when he was injured in combat, losing his limb in a tank shelling near Verkhnyokamianske.

Oleg

Oleg is 48 years old and was born in Snizhne in the Donetsk region. He is a father of two sons. Oleg is a karate practitioner, holding a 1st dan black belt.
He has been serving as a volunteer in the war zone since March 1, 2022. On October 1, 2022, during a maneuver in Sviatohirsk, a mine exploded causing Oleg to lose his leg.

Oleksii

Oleksii is 39 years old and was born in Mariupol. He has been fighting since May 2014. Oleksii was wounded in the Kherson region near the village of Davydiv Brid as a result of a mortar attack on October 1, 2022.

Maksym

Maksym a 34-year-old from Mezhyrich, Dnipropetrovsk. He lives in Pavlograd with his wife and daughter and has worked at a mine since 2007. Maksym enjoys beekeeping, traveling, meeting new people, and playing soccer. He served in the army from 2015-2016 and joined the 54th Mechanized Brigade in July 2021 to defend against Russian aggression in Donetsk. He lost a limb after stepping on a mine on Sept 25, 2022.

Hennadii

Hennadii 46 years old, was born in Apostolovo, Dnipropetrovsk region. Hennadii is a devoted family man, married and a proud father of two daughters. He joined the Army in 2015, motivated to defend Ukraine. Since 2021, he has been an active member of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozky, where he has been serving on the frontlines. On September 11, 2022, while the unit was clearing the area near the village of Chervone from the occupiers, a mine exploded near Hennadii, injuring him.

Oleh

Oleh, 45 years is from Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa region. Married and a father of two sons. Oleh is an avid reader, gymnast, and miner. Oleh embarked on his military journey on March 3, 2015, serving in various capacities, such as being a gunner for AGS-17 and a marine corps member. In 2018, he specialized in sapper duties, requiring rigorous military training. On October 31, 2022 Oleh faced numerous mine traps, anti-personnel and anti-tank mines installed by the Russian military. An anti-personnel mine exploded near him causing him to loose his leg.

Roman

Roman is 33 years old. He was born in the Rivne region and raised in a close-knit family with his elder brother. Roman lived and worked in Kyiv before the full invasion. He is an avid soccer fan, and he enjoys skiing and traveling. In March of 2022, Roman was mobilized to serve in the engineering and sapper troops. He was injured while performing a mission in the village of Nesteryanka in the Zaporizhzhya region.

Vadym

Vadym is 47 years old, resides in Kyiv. He graduated from Horlivka Medical School in 2001 with a specialization in dental technology. Vadym has a son named Arthur, who is a student. He has traveled to several countries in the past 5 years, including Israel, Belarus, Estonia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. Currently, Vadym serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ihor

Ihor is 58 years old , Lviv resident, father of two daughters aged 33 and 27, and a sports enthusiast who enjoys judo and karate. Ihor volunteered to defend Ukraine during the Russian invasion but sustained an injury near Avdiivka. Despite his injury, Ihor is determined to return to the battlefield with state-of-the-art prosthetics to continue fighting for Ukraine’s victory alongside his fellow soldiers.

Oleksandr

Oleksandr, a 24-year-old Ukrainian soldier from Zhytomyr Region, actively fought for his country’s freedom since 2019. He defended Odesa during the Russian invasion, and played a key role in liberating the Kherson region. Despite losing a limb during combat, he plans to return to Ukraine after receiving prosthetics and rehabilitation in New York to continue fighting.

Vladyslav

Vladyslav is 39 years old, worked as a teacher before volunteering to defend Ukraine in March 2022 as a sapper. He was injured while clearing an area in the Kherson region on October 9, 2022, resulting in the traumatic amputation of both lower limbs. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is determined to continue to defend Ukraine. Vladyslav’s unwavering commitment and determination to continue fighting is an inspiration, and he deserves our utmost admiration.

Oleh

Oleh is 50 years old. He was born in the Vinnytsia region village of Ivcha and has lived in Azerbaijan and Poland. He is a proud father of a 23-year-old son. From 1990 to 2008, he served as a member of the Navy Infantry’s Special Operations Forces. He volunteered for the war effort on February 24th, 2022. Oleh lost a limb in a Russian mine explosion while on a combat mission near Davydiv Brid. He enjoys fishing and traveling.

Pavlo

Pavlo is 48 years old, he completed his education at Kyiv Electro-Mechanical College. After serving in the military in the 1990s, he worked in warehouse logistics before the full-scale war broke out in 2022. Pavlo was initially in the non-combat brigade before transferring to the 57th brigade, where he sustained injuries from a mine in August 2022, resulting in the traumatic amputation of his right foot and a fracture of his left calcaneus. He is currently receiving treatment and is eager to receive a prosthetic and rehabilitation so he can return to fight for Ukraine with the 57th brigade.

Artur

Artur is a 41-year-old surgeon and lieutenant who volunteered to defend Ukraine. He served as chief of the medical service for a battalion and participated in a counter offensive in Davydiv Brid where he was injured by a mine explosion. His left lower limb was amputated, and he sustained multiple shrapnel injuries. Despite this, he remains committed to serving his country and needs a high-quality prosthesis to continue his work as a surgeon and treat wounded soldiers and civilians.

Serhii

Serhii, 49 years old, holds an MBA degree and graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. He is a veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and served as a sergeant in the National Guard of Ukraine. From February 24, 2023, as part of the “Mauser” group in the Special Purpose Company of the Kulchytsky Battalion, he engaged in combat as a sniper, targeting and eliminating Russian forces. On November 13, 2022, during a successful assault on Wagner Private Military Company positions in the area near Kremenna, Serhii sustained a mine-explosion injury, resulting in the loss of a third of his shin and foot.

Oleksandr

Oleksandr is 36 years old from Bondary village in the Zhytomyr region. He enjoys fishing and hunting as his favorite pastimes. He has an extensive military background serving in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO). In February 2022, Oleksandr courageously rejoined the Ukrainian Army. During a combat mission, Oleksandr stepped on an anti-personnel mine, resulting in the loss of his left limb and a finger on his right hand.

Serhii

Serhii, a resilient 36-year-old from Mykolaiv, Ukraine, initially resigned from the Armed Forces due to health concerns after being wounded in 2019. When the full-scale invasion began, his commitment to protecting his homeland led him to reenlist. Tragically, he sustained another injury while demining the islands in the Kherson region, after stepping on an anti-personnel mine on the island of Belogrudiy. Before the war, Serhii enjoyed an active lifestyle, with a love for traveling, cycling, and dancing, especially kizomba. Despite the challenges he has faced, Serhii remains determined to rebuild his life and pursue his passions.

Oleh

Oleh is 35 years old from Odesa region. He has an extensive military career and in February 2022, his commitment to defending his country led him to rejoin Ukrainian Armed Forces. When he stepped on a mine, resulting in severe injuries to his right foot and the loss of a limb. Despite facing adversity, Oleh’s unwavering spirit propels him forward and his ultimate goal is to return to his comrades, equipped with prosthetics, and continue the fight.

Havriil

Havriil, a 26-year-old Ukrainian from Chernivtsi, dedicated five years of his life to serving in the military in the Mykolaiv region. Following his military service, he made the brave decision to become an Artillery cannoneer. Havriil is happily married and a proud father to a 2-year-old daughter. He enjoys fishing and exploring mountainous regions during his travels. During a combat mission in the Kherson region, he tragically lost his left limb due to a mine planted by Russian invaders.

Illia

Illia, 23 years old, was born in Khmelnytskyi. From 2006 to 2017, he completed school, obtaining a secondary education. From 2017 to 2023, he studied at Khmelnytskyi National University, where he obtained a higher education. From 2018 to 2021, he served on a contract basis in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2022, he volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was wounded on December 8, 2022. He enjoys active leisure, driving a car, and fishing. He is unmarried.

Denys

Denys is 30 years old. He’s always loved cinema and literature. Hailing from Kamianets-Podilskyi in Khmelnytskyi Oblast, his family roots link to the historic fortress, well-known across Ukraine. Military involvement since 2015, he joined post-education. Leading an engineering platoon in the 36th Marine Brigade, He served in Anti-Terrorist Operations and across Ukraine. During the full-scale Russian invasion, stationed in Mariupol, Denys was a deputy commander in the Marine Infantry Battalion and got wounded during a battle.

Serhii

Serhii, 24 years old, born in Khmelnytskyi. Before the military, he worked as a delivery driver and a security guard. Serhii enjoys soccer, fishing, biking, and good food with friends. His military journey began in school with a military-oriented lyceum. After four years there, he signed an Armed Forces contract, serving in the Security Company. Serhii was in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone in 2019-2021. After a stint at “Tiger” security company, he rejoined the military in the 19th Separate Motorized Rifle Battalion on April 21, 2022. Eight months later, near Kreminna, he was injured on December 8, 2022.

Ivan

Ivan, 35 years old, was born in the village of Torgovitsya in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, within the Gorodenka District. He completed his schooling and then pursued studies in automobile repair, a field he successfully engaged in until the full-scale invasion. He had plans to open his own business and hoped to realize this dream after the war. He voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he was assigned to the engineering forces. He sustained the injury in February 2023 in the field not far from Snihurivka. He plans to return to service as soon as possible.

Serhii

Serhii, 31 years old.  He started a DJ career when he was 13 years old and continued until 2014. He had various employments and degrees, such as hats designer. In 2014 he started as a volunteer to help Ukraine against Russian invasion. In 2016 he joined the Ukrainian Army as Air defense. Served for one and a half year he transferred to the Razved battalion where he served for 3 and half years. He left the Army in 2021. With Full Russian invasion, Serhii rejoined the Army as a sniper March 10, 2022. 08/13/2022 he was injured at Donetsk Airport near Avdeevka. He was brought to the hospital where he was until coming to the USA.  

Yevhen

Yevhen, is 40 years old. He was born in Nikopol. He lived in Irpin when war’s started. Yevhen currently is divorced, has daughter Khrystyna living with him, she’s about to start university. Before, he engineered security systems, enjoyed running, woods, and swimming. Before full-scale invasion, he worked as engineer. When conflict emerged, Yevhen enlisted, trained, and joined the 81st Airmobile Brigade. On January 28, 2023, he was wounded near Kreminna.

Taras

Taras, 45 years old, bornin Ternopil, Ukraine. Graduating with honors in Jurisprudence in 2002 and a master’s in Finance in 2005, he expanded his expertise with a master’s in Social Development Management. His varied career includes jobs as an advisor to a People’s Deputy, entrepreneur, and administrator in the district. As a committed public servant, he excelled as a Member of the Ukrainian Parliament, Deputy Head of a regional administration, and energy sector director. Dedicated in military service during mobilization, Taras served as a senior reconnaissance sniper. Taras is a devoted spouse and a parent to four children.

Serhii

Serhii was born 42 years ago in Ternopil. He just got married a few days ago. In civilian life, he worked abroad in Poland, servicing technological processes. After the full-scale invasion, he volunteered for the Territorial Defense Forces. On June 17, 2022, he was wounded in the leg and suffered an open arm fracture due to tank shelling near the Svitlodarsk Thermal Power Plant. On June 15, 2023, during counter-insurgency operations in the south of Zaporizhzhia, he lost his left limb due to an anti-personnel mine explosion. On September 15, 2023, he was awarded the State Order of “For Bravery” of the 3rd degree.

Volodymyr

Volodymyr, 41 years old,  was a civil man before the full-scale invasion of russia into Ukraine.  He is a proud father of 3 boys. The eldest son is serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Volodymyr has the intention to stay in my military as a driver.
